The nature park Kellerwald-Edersee with national park
Located in the middle of Germany the nature park Kellerwald- Edersee welcomes you with a unique low mountain range landscape. Idyllic villages are embedded in a sparsely populated cultural landscape. Flower decorated meadows; clear becks and forests arrange this countryside.
Within this 57 km2 large nature park one of Europe biggest beech forest is conserved and nature is allowed to be just nature. In the north you can find also the “Blue Eye”, the lake Edersee.
The hiking trails Kellerwaldsteig & Urwaldsteig Edersee allow hikes of several days' duration. On this hikes we recommend to visit places of excursion like the ruins of the Quernst-Church within the national park or the Haina monastery.
But you can go in for sports, too: Canoe tours on the wild river Eder, cycling and mountain biking or swimming, sailing or surfing at the Edersee lake. After all that sport use the possibility to top up your energy by using one of the regional stops for refreshment. Locations like the corn-labyrinth near Vöhl invite you.
