Naturpark
Schwarzwald Mitte/Nord

Two nature parks are located in the Schwarzwald, the nature park Südschwarzwald, and the new nature park Schwarzwald Mitte/Nord, which was founded in 2000.
The area ranges from the Ortenau district and parts of the Rottweil district in the south, to the District Pforzheim and the city Karlsruhe.
The main characters are vast forest interspersed with highland glades, lakes, highmoors, natural founts and clear becks.
Avalanche forests, the “virgin forests of tomorrow“, crosses the whole park and a constant change of vineyards and fruit-growing areas marks the western border. Track paths develop the nature beauties.
Beside the outstanding landscape the nature park offers a wide range of sights like castles, where pageants taking place nowadays.
Many interesting museum, like the jewellery museum in Pforzheim or the open-air museum in Gutach, can be visited as well. Tourist routes like the Schwarzwald flyover, the Schwarzwald spas route or the Badische wine route develop the greatest parts of the park and invite to excursions across the whole area.
