Südschwarzwald


The special charm of our cultural landscape lies within its constant change between forest and glades, which was developed by the rural population during the last centuries.
Over 65% of the area are covered with forest and with its 370.000 ha the nature park Südschwarzwald is one of the largest in Germany. The Schwarzwald in the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland is the highest low mountain range in Germany (Feldberg: 1493m).
The popular vantage points above the Feldberg, Belchen and many other peaks provide a panoramic view over the Rhine valley to the Vogesen or even to the Alps.
The nature park offers many track paths and cycle tracks along valleys and canyons, waterfalls and traditional farms. Moreover you got the possibility to exercise a lot of activities like mountain biking, climbing, soaring, golf or winter sports
The biota is a varied one. Many rare animal and plant species are native to this area.
Concerning cultural places of excursions the nature park Südschwarzwald fulfils the desires of almost everyone as well. Visit one of the traditional Schwarzwald farms and enjoy the gastronomic delectabilities.
