Insel Usedom
Endless white sandy beaches, dunes and sheer rock walls along the coast and forests, meadows and lakes in the back-country: The landscape of the nature park Usedom guarantees pure recreation. The “European Charta for sustainable tourism in nature reserves” acclaimed the main part of the park.
The island Usedom as a North German cultural landscape offers a great variety of landscapes on a very small area. The last ice age and generations of beings formed it.
The special attraction of Usedom besides the landscape and the appearance of rare plant and animal species is the importance as recreation area.
The old royal seaside resorts Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin and the nature of the island attracts a lot of tourists every year. With 600km of cycle tracks and nature trials within the nature reserves the variety of the island can be experienced. A lot of artists found their artistic home here, too.
