Naturpark
Elm-Lappwald

The nature park Elm-Lappwald lies in the hilly land east of Brunswick.
Human beings in the early Stone Age already settled the landscape, which is formed by wooded highs and fertile grounds.
One of the impressive evidences of this episode are the megalithic- and hill tombs as well as finding from the later Stone Age can be found in the nature park, which is part of the “National Geopark”.

The fertile grounds stayed until today preferred acre areas. The forests in the nature park are diverse. Beside the Elm, which is the largest and the most beautiful beech forest of northern Germany, the Dorm and the mysterious Lappwald promise impressive experiences. But also moors, rivers, lakes, meadows and species-rich land are part of the image of the nature park. Accordingly diverse is its plant- and animal world.
All in all a distance of 500 km is acquired by signed track paths. Doesn’t matter, if you go by bike or by feet, it is always pure relaxation.
