Naturpark
Frankenhöhe

The area of the nature park covers about 1.100 km2 and is situated in the northeast of the famous city Rothenburg o.d.T., at the border to Baden-Württemberg. The nature park Frankenhöhe is one of the sun-richest areas in southern Germany. Extreme variations in weather are rare. The balanced climate brought official recognition to Burgbernheim, Dietenhofen, Feuchtwangen and Schillingsfürst as recreational areas. It does not only offer sparing for the habitants but also protection for the animals and plants.

The highs of the nature provide an excellent panorama. With the view on the castles Cadolzburg, Virnsberg or Colmberg one can see the history of nature and of the human beings, which cutivated the fields in the early medieval times.
A particular impression of the nature park Frankenhöhe is delivered by the permanent exhibition in the information center in Colmberg. Here the visitor can experience varied insights into the nature and gain stimulus, how to discover the beauty by walking or cycling.
