Naturpark Lüneburger Heide
Nature- and recreation landscape in the middle of the tri-city area of Hamburg, Hanover and Bremen
Situated in the centre of the nature park is the Wilsener Berg (169,2m) the highest peak within the northern lowlands of Germany. The nature park offers numerous places of excursion. In particular the village Wilsede, which only can be reached on foot, by bike or by carriage. Another great place is the Totengrund, a pictorial valley in the heart of the biological reserve. For everyone, who wants to know more about the history, the animal and plant species, and the association Naturschutzpark e.V. offers three “Nature Houses“ in Niederhaverbeck, Undeloh and Döhle. In the nature park Lüneburger Heide you can find many relics from history like cairns and a lot of rare animal and plant species could be heard and seen from the alleys.
