Naturpark
Nuthe-Nieplitz

The landscape between the rivers Nuthe and Nieplitz offers so much quietness
and rural calmness, how you wouldn’t expect it from a place only 45 minutes from Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm away.
Many of the old villages have this traditional kind of churches and almost any of them got their own stork eyrie. In autumn thousand of cranes and other northern birds come here to rest.
In this sparsely populated lowland various other rare animal and plant species found a home as well, like orchids and ospreys.
Enjoy the beauty of the nature park with all your senses: A sweet cottonwood fragrance fills the air, the insects chirp and you can watch the bat hunting above the lakes at dawn.
On the former military training area Glauer Tal you got the possibility to watch various kind of loose game animals within a 160 ha large area in the course of a unique project.
Two cities lies within the nature park: Both, Beelitz and Treuenbrietzen offer a great historic city centre. As further place of excursion the castle Blankensee is strongly recommended.
