Schönbuch
Located within the densely populated industrial district of the Neckar area, between Tübingen, Reutlingen, Böblingen and Herrenberg the large and nature close woodland of the nature park Schönbuch offers the hiker a large network of well sign posted track paths
Sport fans can use the forest tracks for biking and visitors, who are interested in culture; nature and history can improve their knowledge by using the numerous nature trials. Many playgrounds and barbecue places offers recreation for all ages.
The nature park is ecological important as well, like the Golders Bach, the last complete unembanked natural beck, natural habitat of the kingfisher.
The constant change of woodland, wet meadows, becks and stretch of standing water as well as nature close agriculture are the guarantors of the sustainable continuity of this landscape
Well timed to the 25-year anniversary the new nature park information centre was founded in 1997. It’s situated in the historic ruin of the monastery Bebenhausen. The uniqueness of this mediaeval building lies in its overall impression and the frescoes of the 16th century.
