Schwalm-Nette
The charming recreation area of the nature park Schwalm-Nette covers 43.500 ha along the German- Netherlands border.
Especially the constant change of woodland and meadows interspersed with many small becks; rivers and lakes provides a basis for a perfect recreation area.
Vast forest along the border or near Süchteln offers the visitor recreation, silence and tranquillity.
Moreover the whole nature is ecological important, due to the amphibians breeding areas along the rivers Niers, Nette, Schwalm and Rur.
Many well sign posted track paths and many well-leaded cycle tracks develop a great recreation area as well as the numerous opportunities for sporting activities.
Furthermore, the regional gastronomy offers something for everyone and a must for lovers of regional products, is the asparagus season.
The accommodation ranges from camping sites to classy historic places.
