Aukrug
The landscape of the nature park Aukrug is older, much older than the other nature parks in Schleswig-Holstein. The area of the park “Hohe Geest” came up before 130 000 years. The nature park Aukrug lies in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein und is covered with 280 km2 forest, lakes, meadows and agricultural land. The glacial time formed a flat relief and consequently the lakes became smaller and turned even to moors. The varied landscape of the nature park offers the visitor a varied nature.
