Naturpark
Soonwald-Nahe

The nature park Soonwald Nahe covers on a small range different landscape. It varies from the plateaus of the Hunsrück over the quartzite crests of the legendary Soonwald with its incised valleys to the slopes of the sunny and dry Nahe valley. This interplay of contradictions forms the distinctive character of our nature park and provides a unique quality of life.

The vine of Nahe is no longer a secret of vine experts, but a recognized place for red and white vine. The ridges of the Soonwald protect the vineyards of the Nahe valley.

Extended deciduous forests provide fresh air to the health resorts in Bad Kreuznach, Bad Münster am Stein and Bad Sobernheim.

In Soonwald the deer as well as the shy wildcat, which doesn’t like the streets, feel like home.

Old ruins deep in the forest and several castles tell the stories of Celts, Romans and of the Middle Ages. But also in the modern spirit this landscape revealed an epic like in the TV series “Heimat”, whose scenery can be seen in different villages.

The alternation of the landscape and climate on a narrow range mirrors the diversity of species. In the nature park Soonwald-Nahe meadows, moors, juniper meadows, fruit fields, natural stretch of waters, flood plains and orchids can be found.

Vine and forest entered an exciting alliance in our nature park. Did we arouse your curiosity? Visit the nature park Soonwald-Nahe!
